| Elementary :: Field Trips |
All grades supplement the curriculum with hands-on
learning experiences through field-trips twice a year. A few major field-trips are as follows:
Third Grade - Students practice
social graces by dressing up to view "The Nutcracker" at Bass
Performance Hall. This is followed by a
formal luncheon or brunch served by parents, where students apply their
knowledge of table manners.
Fourth Grade - Overnight field trip to Sky Ranch
in Van, Texas each spring for outdoor, hands-on, interactive science and social
studies experiences in a Christian-led camp.
Fifth Grade - Two night field trip to NASA in Houston, Texas every October where fifth-graders marvel at the wonders of God's creation and put their science knowledge to the test in rocket experiments presented by official NASA teachers. Students visit the original Mission Control room, the Neutral Buoyancy Lab, (where they have been privileged to see real astronauts training for extra-vehicular activity), and see real space craft up-close. Overnight field trip to Fossil Rim in Glen Rose, Texas, and the Creation Museum each fall to culminate science study and perform mission work.
