High School :: Advanced Placement Offerings

The Advanced Placement program provides motivated high school students with the opportunity to take college-level courses in a high school setting.

In order to receive college credit, students must earn a passing grade on the nationally administered AP tests in May. AP test scores range from a score of "1" (no recommendation) to "5" (highly qualified), with the score of "3" or "4" earning college credit at the majority of colleges and universities. All students enrolled in an AP course at LCCS were required to sit for the AP exam in May.

Vernier Data-Collection Technology

The high school lab sciences use the Vernier Data-Collection Technology for many of their experiments. This technology allows students to gather precise data and then analyze it on the individual computers at their lab station. LCCS has a wide complement of sensors to use in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and IPC.

Interactive Literature

The English classes at LCCS are designed to engage the students in evaluating the poems, drama, and literature they study through a variety of means and presentations.

Computer Projects

In high school computer classes, students work in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.  They also create Clay Animations and begin programming using Lego Robotics.
