High School :: Field Trips

  • College and Career Class
    The counselor takes students to visit college campuses for tours and information sessions with college recruiters. The purpose of the tours is to stimulate college interest for freshmen students and to help give direction to upper level high school students.

  • World History Class - Medieval Times Fieldtrip
    During their study of the medieval era, the students experience life during this time by enjoying a performance at Medieval Times in Dallas. They experience a medieval dinner while enjoying swordplay, jousting, and medieval games.
  • TX Political Science Class - Inauguration/Governor's Ball

During the 2006-2007 state electoral year, students in the Texas Political Science class were able to participate in many different stages of the electoral process. From working at local election headquarters to heading to Austin to observe a session of the Texas House of Representatives, the students were able to see the Texas political system in action. The students were even able to obtain tickets to the Governor's Inauguration Ball!

 

  • Physics Class - Physics Day at Six Flags
    In the spring, the Physics classes have the opportunity to gather and analyze data concerning motion, acceleration, gravity, and velocity on amusement park rides. While at Six Flags over Texas, students perform experiments using the Vernier Sensor Technology to get very precise measurements. The students get to witness in action the physics concepts they have been studying all year!
  • Economics Class - Mint and Engraving Bureau
    For the senior economics students, one of the highlights of their study is a tour of the Federal Mint and Engraving Bureau in Fort Worth. This tour includes a history of U.S. paper currency and how it is produced today. Students are able to watch the production process on an elevated walkway above the currency production floor.

  • Journalism Class
    The adviser takes students to visit the Taylor Publishing plant in Dallas where our book is published yearly. This allows students to gain a greater scope of the whole publishing process.
  • College Day
