| Spiritual Life :: Wednesday Chapels |
- "Hear the Word" chapel involves a time of praise and worship and a speaker who addresses key issues that are relevant to our middle school students. "Hear the Word" chapels are provided by LCCS faculty and administration as well as guest speakers.
-
"Do the Word" chapels are a time for the middle school students to build character through activities that provide opportunities for students to practice the principles taught in Scripture.
Elementary Chapel
Chapel lessons are taught by the Elementary Principal, Bill Burton, and by Chapel Coordinator and Art teacher, Debbie Garrison. Guest speakers often visit, as well as students from LCC Middle and High Schools who share testimonies, songs, multimedia and dramatic presentations. Teachers also share about God’s faithfulness in their lives.
Lesson themes for 2007-2008 included “God’s Colorful Character,” a study of His attributes, and “Prayer Power,” monthly prayer targets such as children who live in the 10/40 Window, the most unchurched part of the world. Students enjoy a weekly “Creature Feature” which teaches about unique creations in the animal kingdom and the biblical life lessons to learn from them. Presentations designed to promote a school culture of respect are a great part of the program. We invite parents and grandparents to join us for our Wonderful Wednesday Chapels.
