How does the theater department get all the props for each show? Especially when they are so specific to a particular show or time period?

Well, most of the time, we make them!

Theater Tech students recently learned about Properties Designers firsthand as they helped Ms. Jackson create a throne for Prince John in the middle school play, “The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood.” We took an old chair that was donated to us, and transformed it into a throne! The tech students, along with art and middle school theater students, helped transform the chair by ripping out the wicker, sanding it, priming it, painting it, recovering the cushions, then bedazzling the chair for those perfect final touches.

Enjoy this behind the scenes look as our donated chair evolves into a throne.
