Skyler Giraulo, LCCS sixth grader and member of the Duke TIP 4th-6th grade Talent Search, is spending the week participating in a CRISIS (Creative Resolutions of Impending Situations with Intelligent Solutions) program. The program is through Duke University, but is being hosted at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas.

During simulations of real-world activities, students will assume their roles on a research team and collaborate with team members to solve the crisis. Skyler will be problem-solving through the lens of medicine and public health during the crisis of “Hurricane TIP.” She’ll help prepare for the storm and respond to its aftermath as a member of the Medicine and Public Health group.
