Lunch Program:
Our lunch program is through Crave-It Nutrition. They offer lunch purchase options from their kitchen and different vendors daily, as well as a la carte items. All details are managed by the Crave-It program, and details can be found in the Resource Depot or linked in the LCCS App.

Communication:
There are several methods the school uses to communicate with Eagle families.

  • App: Download the LCCS App from your app store. The app and our website will be invaluable tools throughout the year. The app will give you secure log-in access to features in your FACTS account, such as lunch orders, financials, and your child’s academic info. Through other links, you can easily access public features like school calendars, athletics schedules, and more!
  • Website: www.lccs.org. We house important documents and policies in Resource Depots, divided into key areas to make it easier to find what you need, including the Student Handbook.
  • Calendar: This page will have both the academic year calendar and the monthly calendar of events.
  • Newsletter: During the school year, we send a weekly all-school newsletter via email each Monday to all our Eagle families. You can find it each week in your email or conveniently linked in the LCCS app for quick access.

Getting Ready for the Year:
As mentioned in the communication section, visit the Resource Depot for your child’s grade level to find School Supply lists for items needed to start the school year off right.

Technology:

  • Every 9th-12th grade student is responsible for purchasing a device with the appropriate requirements to use in the classroom and at home each day. The BYOD, Bring Your Own Device policy approves iPads or laptops for class use. Be sure and review tech requirements on the school supply list.
  • Students in elementary, intermediate, and middle school will have access to a school iPad, and PK/Kinder Prep may share classroom devices.

After-School Care:
Our after-school care serves students from PK through 6th grade until 5:00 or 6:00 PM (end time decided yearly) for an additional fee. Additional details on extended care are available in the Resource Depot.

Seasonal Holiday Celebrations at LCCS
From the beginning, Lake Country Christian School has intentionally chosen to celebrate seasonal holidays with a focus on the Lord and His Word. We avoid the more commercial aspects of these holidays and instead seek to maintain a Biblical perspective. We understand that families may choose to celebrate differently at home, and while we respect your choices, we ask that you honor ours within the school environment.

  • Fall: LCCS does not celebrate Halloween. Instead, students participate in fall-themed activities and Thanksgiving projects. Bulletin boards and classroom displays reflect this focus. A highlight of the season is our Grandparents/Veterans Celebration Day—a special time to honor and enjoy these important members of our community.
  • Winter: Our Christmas celebrations focus on the birth of Jesus Christ. Santa Claus is not included in school activities, as we keep our attention on the miracle of Christ’s birth and God’s redemptive plan. Parents may include other traditions at home as they see fit.
  • February: We celebrate Valentine’s Day with an emphasis on love and giving. Students enjoy exchanging cards with classmates and teachers, making it a joyful and memorable occasion.
  • Spring: We celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Students learn about the significance of the Cross, the forgiveness of sins, and the joy of the risen Savior—foundations of the Christian faith. School activities do not include the Easter Bunny or related themes, allowing families to observe those traditions at home if they choose.

Big Events:

Back-to-School Kick-Off

We host a morning in August as a fun Eagle family way to kick off the new school year. Hear from the Head of School, meet and greet other Eagle families, learn more about LCCS programs, and pick up spirit gear. Now students may have orientation times, and schedules for grades 5-12 are made available on this day so families can walk through campus and say hello to teachers.

State of the School

This annual meeting of our Eagle families is an opportunity for the Head of School to connect with families, review feedback, and share our vision of the future for LCCS. This required meeting helps leadership and families alike ensure that everyone hears the same message as part of continuous enrollment.

East Coast Trip

Typically in February, 8th graders travel to Virginia, D.C., and New York City to explore sites they have been learning about in Wolfetopia, Mrs. Wolfe’s middle school history classes. This trip is truly a “do-not-miss” opportunity for our 8th-grade Eagles!

Baby Jesus Chapel

One of our school’s most beloved traditions, this sweet chapel has been a special time for our students since our first Christmas together in 1980! In the weeks before Christmas, classes take turns placing a figure in the outdoor nativity scene. Elementary students worship together in this final chapel before Christmas, as the scene is completed as baby Jesus is placed in the manger!

Crown Chapel

End-of-the-year elementary Crown Chapel is a special time when students place their crowns (symbolizing all the life events of the year – celebrations and challenges) at the foot of the cross.

Celebrate LCCS

This is an end-of-the-year celebration for all our Eagle families! Enjoy face painting, balloon animals, Spirit Store deals, and food in Eagle Alley before heading to the stands to watch the annual junior-senior powderpuff football and buff puff volleyball.

Common Terms:

F.R.O.G. Lab

Located in the Purtell Building, this elementary science lab serves PK-4th grade, where exciting things happen every day.

Eagle Lab

Eagle Lab is our STEM class for PK-Middle School, where students create and learn with 3D printers, robotics, and more.

The Nutcracker Luncheon

A long-standing LCCS tradition, 3rd-grade students complete a series of manners and etiquette courses that culminate in an elegant holiday brunch or luncheon after a viewing of The Nutcracker ballet at Bass Hall.

JEC

Junior Eagle Cheer is cheer for our elementary students. Led by our high school cheerleaders under Coach Duffy, they perform at designated football halftimes and pep rallies.

Eli and Ellie

Our LCCS mascots are Eli the Eagle and Ellie the Eagle and you’ll find one of them at different events throughout the year.

High School Houses

The House system offers leadership and fellowship opportunities and builds loyalty and unity while encouraging competition throughout the year. Our four houses of Maulden, Byers, McElreath, and Blanton are named for people instrumental in the founding of our school.

Family Service Hours

Each family completes 10 hours of service at LCCS on campus each school year. Everyone has opportunities, and each sign-up offers a chance to get to know other families. MobileServe is the platform we use to track, communicate, and organize family service hours.

LCCS App

The app puts all things LCCS at your fingertips, giving you quick access to your FACTS account and the most-visited web links, such as school calendars, lunch orders, athletic schedules, newsletters, and ticket purchases for home games or fine arts performances.

Fundraising and Giving Opportunities:

Tuition pays for the curriculum and day-to-day operations of the school. Fundraising allows us to do things with excellence above and beyond the day-to-day.

North Texas Giving Day

We join other organizations across North Texas to raise funds and compete for matching funds in the nation’s largest one-day giving event for non-profits held each September.

LCCS in Action

Each fall, our students complete age-appropriate service projects on and off campus, ranging from campus care and packaging socks for the homeless to assembling hygiene kits and building beds for foster children. Friends/family/neighbors are asked to sponsor them with a monetary pledge as students serve others in this impactful fundraiser.

Gala

Our biggest fundraiser of the year is the Tip Your Hat Gala. This fun spring event brings the community together at River Ranch Stockyards for dinner and a live auction. From sponsorships and donations to games and the live auction, everyone can get involved.

Sponsorships

You can support the Eagles through All-School Sponsorships, Friends of the Arts Booster Club, or the Athletics Booster Club. You can gain benefits ranging from special LCCS merch and parking spots to business advertising, early access to performing arts tickets, and more!
