Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

The Christian counselor will be responsible for developing and implementing a biblically-based PK-12th grade social and emotional learning program on campus. This position is a non-LCCS parent role. The counselor will work to ensure the SEL needs of students are being met through the following:

Program Components

  • Evaluate and counsel student-related issues pertaining to mental wellness
  • Bring awareness and training to educators on SEL issues
  • Assist students with developing personal/social skills, goals, and plans
  • Collaborate with parents/guardians and educators to assist students with mental wellness
  • Provide individual and/or group counseling to students with identified concerns and needs
  • Consult and collaborate effectively with parents/guardians, teachers, and administrators regarding students with identified concerns and needs
  • Implement an effective referral and follow-up process as needed
  • Respond to crises as needed
  • Maintain student counseling records 
  • Lead professional development activities to improve knowledge and skills. 
  • Adhere to laws, policies, procedures, and ethical standards 

The counselor will also adhere to the following:

  • Confidentiality: The counselor keeps student information confidential per both school policies and all applicable laws. When there is educational need-to-know, information is only shared with appropriate personnel. Student records are kept protected at all times.
  • Individuality: The counselor provides an atmosphere where student differences are expected, identified, encouraged, supported, and celebrated, with the understanding that all students reflect the image of God, have a purpose designed by Him, and deserve love and attention without bias. 
  • Integrity: The counselor operates within the ethics and best practices of the field and follows through with all deadlines and requests for information in a timely manner.

Cooperation: The counselor fosters an atmosphere of cooperation among teachers, students, and parents with the understanding that all parties have common ground in seeking the well-being and best interests of the students.

School Nurse

LVN or RN Preferred

Responsibilities:
Medical Needs of School Population

  • Lead and attend Medical Care Plan meetings for appropriate students
  • Manage/Document dispensing of all student medications/OTC and prescription as applicable
  • Manage school wide protocols/policies
  • Maintain/order medical supplies as needed
  • Provide classroom/field trip medical bags in elementary, middle and high school as applicable
  • Maintain disinfection of health office/equipment/supplies

Emergency Medical Procedures

  • Maintain AED/Epi-Pens and provide training to faculty/staff on emergency medical procedures

Immunizations/Health Screenings

  • Audit/Document and keep up to date immunization records for student population according to Texas Department of Health-Complete annual reports as required
  • Perform health screenings annually as required by Texas Department of Health-Complete annual reports as required

Communication

  • Parent notification for immunization records/screenings
  • Parent notification regarding illnesses/medical issues/school health procedures

Elementary School Teacher

ROLE/PURPOSE

The role of an LCCS teacher is to educate and mentor students through educational instruction toward LCCS expected outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Broadcast Journalism Teacher

REPORTS TO MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL

ROLE/PURPOSE

The role of LCCS teacher is to educate and mentor students through educational instruction toward LCCS expected outcomes.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or similar field preferred
  • Working knowledge of video editing software such as Final Cut, Adobe Premier, or similar software and the ability to teach these skills to students.
  • Provide instruction and practical hands-on experiences to students in digital photography, graphic publications, and fundamentals of broadcast journalism to promote marketable job skills and training in a related career field.
  • Includes classroom and lab instruction related to typography, information design, branding-identity systems, illustration, social media tools, interviewing and writing, video editing, and broadcasting. 
  • Projects may include logos, brochures, posters, magazine layouts, packaging, digital video creation, photography, animation, and/or emerging skills related to the industry.

ROLE/PURPOSE

The role of an LCCS teacher is to educate and mentor students through educational instruction toward LCCS expected outcomes. The yearbook sponsor is responsible for editing and supervising the publication of the yearbook and teaching students about all aspects of yearbook publication.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or similar field preferred
  • Working knowledge of video editing software such as Final Cut, Adobe Premier, or similar software and the ability to teach these skills to students.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Dance, Performing Arts, or related field
  • Extensive experience as a dancer and choreographer, with a strong foundation in multiple dance styles including ballet, modern, jazz, tap, and contemporary

Head Boys Basketball Coach and High School Teacher

Reports to: Athletic Director and MS/HS Principal

Position Summary:

The responsibility of a coach will be to develop, train, and educate students in their respective sports to be the best Christian athletes they can be. The Coach will fill this crucial role through practice, prayer and discipline. The Coach will report to the Athletic Director.  

 Coaching Responsibilities:

  • Seeks to model in speech, actions, and attitude, a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ and exemplifies a Christ-like character both on and off the court.
  • Responsible for the physical and spiritual well-being of the athletes during the sporting activity.
  • Direct the athletes in the skills of the sport so that each player aims toward reaching his/her potential.
  • Prayer is required before each game and is led by the coach or the athlete.
  • Shall handle any discipline situation that occurs on their team and may seek the assistance of the Athletic or Assistant Athletic Director, if necessary.    
  • Shall call to the attention of the Athletic Director any incidents of conduct on the part of coaches, officials, players, or spectators, which seem to be detrimental to the best interest of the sport, school, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Shall maintain a good rapport with the official(s) associated with the administration of the contest and handle themself in such a manner that he/she represents Christ in a positive manner and sets an example for the athletes.
  • Is responsible for all equipment during practice and games, issuing uniforms to the athletes, and reporting any problems with said uniforms.
  • Is responsible for creating game & practice schedules for ALL high school and middle school games. 
  • Is responsible to notify all players, parents, and administration of times and places in regard to games and practices in a timely manner.
  • Ensures proper conduct of players at all times during practice, games, and trips.
  • If an injury should occur, immediate, qualified assistance should be sought if the coach determines it to be necessary. The coach should report serious injuries to the Athletic Director and to the parent(s) of the injured athletes.  
  • Report game results to the Athletic Director & Communications Director.
  • Maintain and uphold the religious standards of  Lake Country Christian School to include the Staff Handbook.
  • Responsible to disciple, instruct and actively pray for the students on our campus.
  • Responsible to reinforce a Biblical Worldview in every workplace interaction with both students, staff and faculty.

Teaching Responsibilities: 

The expectations for the position of teacher at Lake Country Christian School shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Assess student work and record an adequate number of grades per subject in a timely, efficient manner.
  • Record student grades in gradebook, maintains accurate gradebook records, and post lesson plans weekly
  • Report student attendance
  • Conduct an ongoing personal review of the curriculum for any deficiencies. 
  • Participate in departmental/grade-level meetings for the purpose of reviewing and assessing curriculum and scope and sequence.
  • Prepare lesson plans to carry out the school’s educational and curricular objectives.
  • Provide individual academic support for successful learning within the boundaries of the established curriculum.
  • Provides appropriate classroom instruction and assessment, incorporating a biblical worldview, for students in grades 9-12
  • Use a variety of effective teaching methods to reach students of varying learning styles.
  • Partner with parents and administration in order to help each child succeed.

  • Serve as duty teacher as assigned by the administration.
  • Participate in in-service and staff development opportunities as requested by the administration.
  • Teach bell-to-bell and assess your students’ academic needs/success continually.
  • Keep grade level principal aware of the status of those students for whom the teacher is responsible, giving special consideration to any challenges students may be facing.

We are seeking a middle school cheer coach. This is a stipend position.
