Secondary Computer Science Teacher

ROLE/PURPOSE: The role of an LCCS teacher is to educate and mentor students through educational instruction toward LCCS expected outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The expectations for the position of teacher at Lake Country Christian School shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

I. Spiritual Leadership
● Continue to seek and maintain a personal relationship with Jesus.
● Encourage, nurture, and model godly character for peers, parents, and students.
● Provide spiritual growth opportunities for staff and students through daily devotions, prayer and appropriate participation in weekly chapel services.
● Support, encourage and edify the school community.

II. Administrative Responsibilities
● Assess student work and record an adequate number of grades per subject in a timely, efficient manner.
● Record student grades in gradebook
● Report student attendance

III. Academic Responsibilities
● Conduct on-going personal review of the curriculum for any deficiencies.
● Participate in departmental/grade-level meetings for the purpose of reviewing and assessing curriculum and scope and sequence.
● Prepare lesson plans to carry out the educational and curricular objectives set forth by the school.
● Provide individual academic support for successful learning within the boundaries of the established curriculum.
● Use a variety of effective teaching methods to reach students of varying learning styles.
● Partner with parents and administration in order to help each child succeed.

IV. Staff Responsibilities
● Attend daily prayer and devotion time.
● Serve as duty teacher before or after school, at lunch and between classes as assigned by the administration.
● Participate in in-service and staff development opportunities as requested by the administration.
● Teach bell-to-bell and assess your students’ academic needs/success continually.
● Keep grade level principal aware of the status of those students for whom the teacher is responsible, giving special consideration to any challenges students may be facing.
● Communicate any maintenance or equipment needs to the administration.

V. Parental Responsibilities
● Realize that the parent has been given the Biblical mandate to educate, and the school
functions as an extension of the Christian home.
● Communicate with parents liberally, giving special consideration to challenges and
opportunities to share successes.

VI. All other duties as assigned

OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED
● Excellent technology skills for working with iPads/computers/apple TVs/etc.
● Experience with Google Apps for Education, Canvas, iOS preferred.
● Excellent communication, troubleshooting and customer service skills required.
● Evidence of personal commitment to continuing professional development.
● Must be a member in good standing of a Bible believing church and lead a mature Christian life.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
● Ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance with established school policies and procedures, and the school mission and core values.
● A Bachelor’s Degree is required with at least 3-5 years of previous teaching experience.
● Must be familiar with comprehensible input methods of teaching.
● ACSI certified or secure ACSI certification within a reasonable time after employment.
● Uses acceptable English in written and oral communication. Speaks with clear articulation.
● Must be knowledgeable about the subject matter specific to the teaching position.

3rd Grade ELA Teacher

Lake Country Christian School is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Elementary ELA Teacher. Potential candidates for this full-time position should be experienced, state certified or ACSI certified. Candidates should have a solid biblical worldview and be committed to discipleship in the context of teaching and relating to students.

Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills requisite for relating to staff, peers, students, and parents should be provided. The ELA Teacher will be expected to:

  • Relate positively to administrators, faculty, students, and parents
  • Evidence a vital relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Prepare excellent, engaging lessons that facilitate success for students with a variety of learning needs
  • Participate in professional growth opportunities as requested by the administration
  • Collaborate with Elementary faculty to create an optimum learning experience for students
  • Utilize 1:1 technology as a vehicle for administrating ELA and enhancing learning in the classroom
  • Familiarize themselves with the policies and procedures of Lake Country Christian School and support and implement them in the classroom and school

Afterschool Care Lead Teacher/Program Coordinator

Lake Country Christian School is seeking qualified candidates for Afterschool Care Lead Teacher/Program Coordinator. Candidates must be mature Christians, active in a local church, and must interact well with students. This position is part-time. Hours are 2:30-6:00 pm on the days school is in session. This teacher will oversee at least one high school student after care worker.  First aid, child abuse prevention and CPR training will be required prior to employment.

The ideal candidate will view this position as an opportunity to minister to and disciple the children in the program.

This candidate should:

  • enjoy working with PK-Elementary aged children
  • supervise students well
  • assist with conflict resolution between students.
  • plan structured activities that vary and oversee unstructured activities like “playground time”
  • provide a warm, safe, and caring and fun experience
  • communicate well with parents
  • manage the sign out process

Afterschool Care Worker

Lake Country Christian School is seeking qualified candidates for Afterschool Care worker for the 2022-2023 school year. Candidates must be 18, mature Christians, active in a local church, and must interact well with students and their co-workers. This position is part-time. Hours are 2:30-6:00 pm on the days school is in session. This teacher will be supervised by the After School Care Coordinator. First aid, child abuse prevention and CPR training will be required prior to employment.

The ideal candidate will view this position as an opportunity to minister to and disciple the children in the program. 

This candidate should:

  • enjoy working with PK-Elementary aged children 
  • supervise students well

  • Work with lead teacher to plan structured activities that vary and supervise students in  less structured activities like “playground time”

Bus Drivers Needed - $20/hour

Lake Country Christian School is seeking qualified candidates for Activity Bus Drivers (to and from field trips, athletics and fine arts competitions, etc.).

Qualifications and expectations:

• Must be a mature Christian, active in a local church, and must interact well with students
• Must also have a CDL with Class B endorsement along with a clean driving record per insurance requirements
• This position is a part-time position and pays $20 per hour
